There’s nothing like paddling on a Northern Vermont lake or pond in the summertime, looking for loons and other wildlife. Montgomery Adventures offers a wide variety of trip options, with everything from an adventure for two to a group excursion. We’ll take to you the best spots, and handle all the hassles of transporting boats and gear.

  • Offered 7 days a week
  • 1/2 day Guided Tours for 2 people with 1 canoe or 2 kayaks: $150.00
  • Full day Guided Tours for 2 people with 1 canoe or 2 kayaks: $225.00
  • Extra people: $50 per person

If you’re looking for a great way to enjoy paddling in Northern Vermont, this is the tour for you! Keith will lead you on a paddling adventure, and if you like, can even give fishing lessons before you settle down for the best BBQ in Northern Vermont – all you have to do is enjoy! When you book this adventure, not only will you enjoy canoeing and kayaking, but you also get the chance to have a taste sensation like you have never had before! Keith makes his own BBQ sauce for your BBQ chicken, rice or potatoes, vegetable, and a pie for desert. See above for tours with packed lunch option or without lunch.

Canoe and Kayak Rentals
If you would like to rent kayaks and canoes, Montgomery Adventures offers boat rentals. Pick them up and return them yourself: $30 a day for a kayak, or $35 a day for a canoe. Canoes and kayaks can be delivered to and picked up from your destination for an additional fee.


Hiking is a wonderful way to explore Vermont’s natural landscape. We offer short hikes, day hikes, and overnight adventures coupled with camping.

  • Day hikes for strong hikers – 4 hours, $90 per person
  • Day hikes for tenderfoot hikers – 2 hours, $65 per person
  • Overnight hikes – $165 per person

Our Firetower Hike is an overnight adventure that couples hiking with camping. Imagine yourself hiking through fabulous summer scenery on your way to an old Firetower, where the views are spectacular. We’ll set up camp and enjoy some additional exploring. The Firetower Hike is appropriate for fit, active adults who are able to carry at least 30 lbs in their packs. Because of the advanced activity level of this trip, the tour is limited to 4 adults.

Camping and Fishing Adventures

Camping and Fishing are both warm weather and winter activities with Montgomery Adventures. We offer summer and fall foliage camping and fishing, as well as winter camping and ice fishing. Fishing and Camping can be done together on a combo tour, or as separate activities.

Our overnight camping trips are priced per person and are all-inclusive – all you need to do is let us know what kinds of foods you like! While our winter camping is limited to two persons, our summer camping options are open to groups, including children.

Primitive Campsite Rentals
If you are looking for a campsite in the Montgomery area, we have primitive campsites available for a nightly rental fee of $35. Campers must provide their own tents, but our site has a fire pit, outhouse, and is located near a babbling brook.

Summer Bass Fishing
We offer summer Bass Fishing trips. This is a full day adventure for a minimum of 2 people and a maximum of 6 people. Cost is $150 per person. Fishing licenses are not included and must be purchased separately prior to your fishing adventure. Licenses can be bought online at

  • Tours can be customized for you, whether you are a beginner or an experienced snowshoer
  • Our Snowshoe Tours are a great way to see dazzling ice formations and breathtaking winter scenery

This summer, Montgomery Adventures is offering day camps and overnight camps for kids ages 5-16.  While you do your own exploring, your kids will have fun:

  • learning to canoe and kayak
  • fishing with a Vermont Certified ‘Let’s Go Fishing’ Instructor.
  • hiking
  • learning tree identification
  • wildlife tracking
  • identifying wild edibles
  • and more!

Unlike crowded summer camps where children can get ‘lost in the crowd’, our camps focus on just your children and are see personalized to your family’s interests. It is important to use that your children enjoy their vacation and spend their time doing things they want to do. Your children will be in the care of experienced nature and adventure guides. Keith is also an All American Swimmer, certified as a life guard, and trained and certified in first Aid and CPR.

This is a family vacation full of rest and relaxation for Mom and Dad. Go golfing, visit area breweries and wineries, or just sit and read a book while your kids are off with us just 3 miles out of town. Our quaint little town of Montgomery Vermont is located on Vermont’s Only designated Wild and Scenic river, and with its covered bridges and miles of open wilderness, there is plenty to do for a family vacation.
