About Your Guides
Your guides are Keith and Lori Sampietro. Keith and Lori have spent the majority of their lives in the outdoors - Hiking , Camping and Boating - in all kinds of weather. Keith himself has hiked most of the Smokey Mountains, the Blue Ridge Mountains, the White Mountains, and the Adirondacks. His Paddling experience is well over 1,500 miles of rivers and lakes. Keith is a Let's Go Fishing Instructor for the State of Vermont, as well as an Archery and NRA Rifle Instructor. He is also Wilderness Survival and First Aid Certified. Lori is a native Vermonter who was raised here in Franklin County, and as a tomboy, has spent her time camping, fishing, ice fishing, and hiking,  Both Keith and Lori are very happy to be able to take people into their world of the wonderful Vermont countryside.

Mountain Haven Puppies
From time to time, Mountain Haven has pups available to those who are interested in purchasing one of these beautiful dogs. At Mountain Haven, we raise Alaskan Huskies, not to be confused with Siberians, or Malamutes. They are a short haired breed that has been raised in Alaska for speed and endurance - the type of dog that is needed for the Iditarod or Yukon Quest. These dogs are born to pull and run, and are pack animals that like to be with other dogs. Our Huskies are very high energy, and very friendly, and anyone wishing to purchase one should have a large penned-in yard and be able to give the pup the running and pulling that this breed needs.

Our parent dogs come from Iditarod runners. Our dam, Natasha, comes from Bruce Linton, who for a short time lived here in Montgomery before moving back to Alaska to run the Iditarod. Our sire, Naugh-Tue, comes from the Reddington's litter out of Manley Hot Spring's Alaska. We have also purchased two pure white Alaskan Huskies that we plan to breed, so we should have pups for sale. If you are interested, please contact us.

If you wish to have a beautiful dog that is designed for hiking but also enjoys lazying around the house and won't run away, you should consider purchasing a Bernese Mountain Dog pup from our friend Dorothy Childs. She has a kennel here in Montgomery, and we would be happy to direct you to Dorothy.
