About Montgomery Adventures
We Believe in Green Fun
Montgomery Adventures by Mountain Haven is a Green Company committed to the concept of Green Fun. The beauty that Mother Nature provides outweighs anything that man can make, and we are pleased to offer adventures which respect Nature while at the same time provide fun and excitement for visitors to Northern Vermont. Mountain Haven is a Green Company, and as such, we structure our adventures to help protect our environment. If you are looking for an adventure that we don’t provide, like snowmobiling, we can send you to the right people.
Hot Chocolate and Hot Apple Cider are always here in the Winter, along with a photo of your trip to Mountain Haven. We at Montgomery Adventures strive to provide our customers with the Greatest Adventure they can have in our wonderful part of this world. If there is something you are interested in, just let us know and we will try to make your adventure your own.
About Your Guides
Your guides are Keith and Lori Sampietro. Keith and Lori have spent the majority of their lives in the outdoors – Hiking , Camping and Boating – in all kinds of weather. Keith himself has hiked most of the Smokey Mountains, the Blue Ridge Mountains, the White Mountains, and the Adirondacks. His Paddling experience is well over 1,500 miles of rivers and lakes. Keith is a Let’s Go Fishing Instructor for the State of Vermont, as well as an Archery and NRA Rifle Instructor. He is also Wilderness Survival and First Aid Certified. Lori is a native Vermonter who was raised here in Franklin County, and as a tomboy, has spent her time camping, fishing, ice fishing, and hiking, Both Keith and Lori are very happy to be able to take people into their world of the wonderful Vermont countryside.
Keith spent the summer of 2015 on the Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau, Alaska, as a Dog Sled Guide. As a part of his experience, he worked with passengers of Princess Cruises as their guide on various shore excursions. Many passengers specifically mentioned the personalized high quality service Keith provided, prompting Princess Cruises to recognize him for a job well done (see the letter at right).
Mountain Haven Puppies
From time to time, Mountain Haven has pups available to those who are interested in purchasing one of these beautiful dogs. At Mountain Haven, we raise Alaskan Huskies, not to be confused with Siberians, or Malamutes. They are a short haired breed that has been raised in Alaska for speed and endurance – the type of dog that is needed for the Iditarod or Yukon Quest. These dogs are born to pull and run, and are pack animals that like to be with other dogs. Our Huskies are very high energy, and very friendly, and anyone wishing to purchase one should have a large penned-in yard and be able to give the pup the running and pulling that this breed needs.
Our parent dogs come from Iditarod runners. Our dam, Natasha, comes from Bruce Linton, who for a short time lived here in Montgomery before moving back to Alaska to run the Iditarod. Our sire, Naugh-Tue, comes from the Reddington’s litter out of Manley Hot Spring’s Alaska. We have also purchased two pure white Alaskan Huskies that we plan to breed, so we should have pups for sale. If you are interested, please http://jardinscarya.com/wp-json/oembed/1.0/\ contact us.
If you wish to have a beautiful dog that is designed for hiking but also enjoys lazying around the house and won’t run away, you should consider purchasing a Bernese Mountain Dog pup from our friend Dorothy Childs. She has a kennel here in Montgomery, and we would be happy to direct you to Dorothy.
